Tune in for the best of what I'm watching each week.
After watching a gratuitous amount of Buffy and Supernatural, it occurred to me that there’s a ton of drama-comedy or straight drama with paranormal elements floating around these days but the most recent sitcom-style shows I can think of are Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and Wizards of Waverly Place — and those are shows for the younger set.
I’m thinking it could be done and I’m going to figure out how. Just need to find a story worth telling.
Story: I’m doing this Supernatural re-watch with my brother but he’s at work right now so I’m trying not to start another episode without him. Perusing through Netflix I decide to curb my craving by watching Being Human. Right when I start to think that I am going to like this show: the tone, the humor, the paranormal elements… Lo and behold the credits roll and the name “Jeremy Carver” pops up. Where have I seen that before?
Oh right! On credits for Supernatural. He’s only the guy with writing credits on some of the more moving and creative episodes like Mystery Spot, A Very Supernatural Christmas, In the Beginning, Family Remains…
He would be the showrunner on Being Human, wouldn’t he. I start seeing the same feel, same elements, same style of character development.
I think his name is definitely going on my list.
All fun and games.
